Did you know?

French fries were born in Namur. Yes, this city on the banks of the Meuse was, in the eighteenth century, fond of fried fry, a small fish that the Namurois liked to eat. Unfortunately, during a very harsh winter, the river froze and fishing became impossible. The Namurois decided to cut pieces of potato in the shape of fish and fry them. Shrewd people, the Namurois!
