In the 1970s, female artists created the image of women themselves for the first time ever. In Brussels from 18/06/14 to 31/08/14!

Art history shows that the image of women is the product of masculine projections. In the 70s, female artists created the image of women themselves for the first time ever. They studied their own bodies, and created the concept of women's identity in a provocative, radical, poetic and ironic way.

29 female artists exhibit almost 450 works which stem from this progress. The exhibition's commissioner considers that this avant-garde feminist movement highlights "the pioneering and collective role that these artists have played during the last 40 years."

She also stresses that "many artists of this trend along with their works are still to be discovered..." And rightly so! Discover them in Bozar!
