Pasing through Celles, in the Dinant area? Make sur to see the Saint Hadelin collegiate church considered exceptional cultural heritage in Wallonia.

One of the prettiest Romanesque churches

  • The collegiate church dates to the 11th century. Built by the disciples of Saint Hadelin (617-690), it is considered one of the prettiest Romanesque churches in the country
  • A disciple of Saint Remacle, Hadelin preached the county and started a monastery (7th century).  He is praised for several miracles, which turned the village into a pilgrimage point
  • The building still has medieval parts: the crypt features Merovingian sarcophaguses, ancient reliquaries. the wooden ceiling and baptismal fonts are in Romanesque style too.
