In the province of Liège, the Château de la Petite Flémal gives free access, all year round, to its park and gardens. This setting, throughout the seasons, is ideal for a stroll and recharging your batteries.

History of the castle

The castle is on the Grand' Route (main road) and has housed the Flémalle town hall services since 1938. It was built in several stages between the 17th and 18th century, with a final section added in 1984.

The site can be visited on request on weekdays and for groups of 10 persons min.

The park and its gardens

The park of the castle has undergone some changes, evolving with the fashion of the times. First utilitarian (orchard, vegetable garden), it was gradually transformed into a marvellously flowery public garden. Today it consists of:

  • an Italian garden with a succession of brightly coloured flowerbeds.
  • a French garden follows, highlighted by a mosaic roundabout.
  • an English landscape where water and rocks imitate the vagaries of nature.
